The Opportunity
We are seeking a high-performing Distribution Center Manager to lead a single fast-paced fulfillment center. You will own day-to-day site performance while driving modernization through automation, AI-enabled decision-making, and a relentless focus on customer experience.
The ideal candidate brings 10–15 years of progressive distribution or fulfillment leadership experience with a proven record of improving throughput, labor productivity, order accuracy, service levels, and cost performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all aspects of distribution center operations, including receiving, storage, picking, packing, shipping, inventory management, staffing, safety, and overall facility performance.
- Drive operational excellence by managing throughput, service levels, quality, cost efficiency, and customer experience.
- Identify, evaluate, and deploy automation solutions such as conveyor and sortation systems, pick-to-light technologies, robotics, AMRs, and automated storage systems.
- Utilize AI and advanced analytics to optimize labor planning, slotting strategies, wave planning, forecasting, and real-time decision-making.
- Define, monitor, and improve key performance indicators including units per hour, order cycle time, dock-to-stock, fill rate, OTIF, labor productivity, inventory accuracy, and cost per order.
- Champion Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Customer Service, IT, Engineering, Transportation, and Commercial teams to ensure alignment and execution.
- Lead workforce planning, coaching, and performance management for supervisors and frontline associates.
- Build and sustain a culture centered on safety, accountability, engagement, and operational discipline.
Qualifications
Required
- 10–15 years of experience in warehousing, distribution, logistics, or fulfillment operations with progressive leadership responsibility.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations, Business, Engineering, or a related discipline (preferred).
- Demonstrated success managing high-volume distribution centers or fulfillment operations.
- Proven ability to drive operational improvements through automation, systems enhancements, and technology adoption.
- Strong analytical mindset with hands-on experience leveraging data and AI-driven tools.
- Expertise in warehouse management systems (WMS), labor management systems, and KPI reporting.
- Consistent track record of improving service levels, reducing costs, and increasing productivity .
Preferred
- Experience in e-commerce, omnichannel, or direct-to-consumer fulfillment environments.
- Exposure to robotics, automation, or AI implementation within warehouse or distribution settings.
- Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement certifications.
- Experience leading facility expansions, redesigns, or large-scale operational transformations.
- Strong financial acumen, including P&L ownership and capital investment management.
