Role Overview: The Regional Director of Nursing (RDON) provides strategic clinical oversight, operational leadership, and hands-on nursing support across their assigned region. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality, compliant home health services for former nuclear workers under the DOL-EEOICPA program. The RDON serves as a leader, mentor, and problem-solver for field staff while driving patient satisfaction, regulatory compliance, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the successful onboarding of new patients. This position combines strategic leadership with field engagement and requires a strong balance of clinical expertise, operational excellence, and people management.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

1. Lead, Manage, Drive Accountability

Lead and hold clinical teams accountable to care quality, documentation timeliness, and utilization performance. Drive results through coaching, field engagement, and best performance management practices. Align staffing, skill mix, and case assignments with patient acuity and census while actively monitoring productivity, workflows, and KPI performance.


2. Clinical Quality and Compliance Assurance

Ensure audit-ready, compliant care through strong documentation, chart audits, and adherence to DOL and state requirements. Partner with QA to identify trends, close gaps, and reduce risk while reinforcing clinical standards that support skilled need, quality outcomes, and optimal authorized hours.


3. Patient and Employee Satisfaction

Own the patient and employee experience by resolving concerns quickly, supporting staff in real time, and maintaining continuity of care. Foster engagement, retention, and trust by leading with professionalism, empathy, and consistency, especially in high-acuity or high-stress situations.


4. Clinical Growth Enablement & Strategic Patient Onboarding

Drive growth through efficient, high-quality start of care execution and clinical documentation that supports strong authorizations and minimizes denials. Partner cross-functionally to ensure seamless onboarding, appropriate referral vetting, and alignment with staffing capacity and operational readiness.


5. Interdepartmental Collaboration, Partnership, and Team Building

Collaborate across teams to optimize utilization, staffing, and clinical outcomes. Contribute to business execution, solve operational gaps, and provide clinical insight that supports financial performance, compliance, and scalable growth.



Education and Experience Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN): Master’s degree in nursing or healthcare administration preferred.
  • Licensure: Must hold a valid and active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of practice.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-4 years of nursing experience required; at least 4 years of experience in home health, nursing leadership, or a related field strongly preferred.
  • Prior experience in a leadership or management role is advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations and standards concerning home health services with the Department of Labor a plus
  • Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients, families, nursing leadership, and healthcare team members.
  • Ability to adapt to a flexible work schedule and to be on-call rotation
  • Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHRs) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Valid driver’s license and/or access to a reliable vehicle or transportation for State travel based on geographical location of clients.
  • Background check and drug screening required.

  • We offer a compensation of $115,000-$125,000 base salary
  • Sign-On Bonus of $10,000
