Our client is a global manufacturer seeking a Regional Director, Indirect Procurement – Americas to lead the strategic sourcing and procurement function across North and South America.
Reporting to the Vice President of Global Procurement, this leader will be responsible for developing and executing regional procurement strategies across a broad portfolio of indirect spend categories, while driving cost optimization, supplier performance, risk mitigation, and operational excellence. The role will partner extensively with senior stakeholders across Manufacturing, Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, R&D, Commercial, and Corporate Functions to ensure procurement strategies support both regional and global business objectives.
This is a highly visible leadership position that will play a key role in supporting business growth, operational performance, capital investment initiatives, and procurement transformation activities across the Americas.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Procurement Leadership
- Develop and execute the Americas indirect procurement strategy aligned with global procurement objectives and broader business priorities.
- Lead category management and sourcing activities across a diverse portfolio of indirect spend categories.
- Drive value creation through cost reduction initiatives, supplier consolidation, demand management, process optimization, and commercial negotiations.
- Establish procurement roadmaps that support operational efficiency, business growth, and long-term supplier partnerships.
Category Management
Provide strategic leadership across multiple indirect spend categories, including:
- Capital Equipment and Engineering Services
- Facilities and Construction
- MRO and Industrial Services
- Professional Services
- Information Technology and Telecommunications
- Logistics and Transportation
- Corporate Services
- Marketing and Commercial Services
- Temporary Labor and Workforce Solutions
Stakeholder Partnership
- Serve as the primary procurement business partner to regional executive leadership teams.
- Collaborate with Operations, Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Finance, HR, IT, and Commercial functions to identify sourcing opportunities and support business initiatives.
- Influence senior stakeholders to ensure procurement engagement early in the planning and budgeting process.
- Support major capital projects, site expansions, operational improvement initiatives, and strategic business investments.
Supplier Relationship Management
- Develop and maintain strategic relationships with key suppliers and service providers.
- Implement supplier performance management programs focused on quality, delivery, cost, innovation, and risk management.
- Lead executive-level supplier negotiations and contract discussions.
- Drive supplier innovation and continuous improvement initiatives across the supply base.
Procurement Operations & Governance
- Ensure procurement policies, processes, and governance standards are effectively implemented throughout the region.
- Support procurement digitalization and systems optimization initiatives.
- Monitor procurement performance through established KPIs and reporting metrics.
- Maintain compliance with applicable regulatory, quality, and corporate governance requirements.
Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing regional procurement organization.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Support talent development, succession planning, and organizational capability building.
- Drive procurement best practices and category management excellence across the team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Finance, or a related discipline.
- 10+ years of progressive procurement and strategic sourcing experience.
- 5+ years of leadership experience managing procurement teams within complex, multi-site organizations.
- Demonstrated experience leading indirect procurement across multiple spend categories.
- Proven track record delivering measurable cost savings, supplier performance improvements, and procurement transformation initiatives.
- Strong experience negotiating complex commercial agreements and managing strategic supplier relationships.
- Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing capabilities.
- Experience operating within highly regulated manufacturing environments.
