The State Highway Administration's (SHA) Office of Construction (OOC) iscurrently recruiting for a Regional Construction Engineer (Transportation Engineering Manager II)inAnne Arundel County. This position is open to anyone who meets the minimum and selective qualifications listed below. This is a position specific recruitment. Nature of work:This position serves as a Regional Construction Engineer (RCE) in the Office of Construction (OOC). The primary purpose of this position is to perform as a fully proficient RCE representing the Administrator, Deputy Administrator/Chief Engineer for Operations, and Director, OOC in the management of the Highway Construction Program. The Regional Construction Engineer is responsible for ensuring quality and uniform construction projects statewide through the use of Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) methods. As the senior field engineer for OOC, this position is responsible for ensuring specification compliance on construction projects and compliance with federally mandated programs and requirements. The Regional Construction Engineer performs this duty, beginning with the planning phase and continuing through the design phase and throughout construction, for each project.
At the discretion of the OOC Deputy Director, the following certifications are required within one (1) year of hire or as needed for a specific upcoming project:
HMA Field, Concrete Field, Soils & Aggregates Compaction, Pavement Marking, Temporary Traffic Control Traffic Manager, OSHA 10-Hour Safety, MDE Responsible Person, SHA Erosion and Sediment Control, Traffic Barrier Certification, and others as necessary for the specific assignment(s).
