Recreation/Music/Art Therapist — Full-Time and Per Diem available

Aurora Behavioral Health System is seeking qualified professionals to join our team in Glendale, Arizona. We are a freestanding psychiatric hospital providing inpatient and outpatient services for adolescents and adults with mental health and substance use disorders.

This position facilitates therapeutic groups and activities that support patient engagement, emotional expression, and recovery.

Responsibilities

• Plan and facilitate adjunctive therapy groups for adolescent and adult patients.

• Provide therapeutic interventions through recreational, expressive, and behavioral health modalities.

• Engage patients in structured therapeutic activities that support treatment goals.

• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary treatment team.

• Complete documentation in accordance with facility policies.

Qualifications

Applicants MUST meet one of the following:

• Bachelor's degree in Recreational Therapy, Music Therapy, Art Therapy, or another expressive therapy field with professional certification (e.g., CTRS, MT-BC, ATR).

OR

• Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, or a related behavioral health field that is license-eligible (e.g., LPC, LCSW).

Additional Requirements

• Knowledge of psychiatric and substance use disorders.

• Strong communication and patient engagement skills.

• Must be 21 years of age or older.

• Must qualify for fingerprint clearance.

• Must be able to pass a drug screen.
