As a Recreation Leader at one of our Active Adult centers, you will help provide exceptional experiences in recreation to patrons age 50 and better. Often you will be the first point of contact for our patrons, processing transactions, and responding to questions about our facility and programs. Recreation Leaders assist the facility leadership in the overall management and operation of the facility and its programs, including after hour event rentals. Recreation Leaders are considered essential staff and may supervise the facility in the absence of a full-time staff member. Once hired, employees are provided with an extensive amount of training, including CPR/First Aid.
Provide outstanding customer service when assisting the public through various communication methods. Be familiar with the facilities and City of Raleigh programs. Responsible for program registrations. Proper collection and handling of fees in accordance with the City of Raleigh's cash handling policies and procedures. Maintain records using Excel, Word and Publisher, Rec Trac Software and general filing. Help maintain and clean facility as needed and also help move, stack, and place tables and chairs around facility. Prepare attendance reports and distribute evaluations to patrons. Supervise check in/check out procedures of programs. Provide feedback regarding program goals and objectives. Create activity schedules. Develop and distribute promotional and marketing information.
Required Education and Experience
Candidate must be at least 18 years of age and have experience working in a customer service setting. Experience in recreation setting a plus. This position requires the ability to move around and be able to lift at least 30 lbs.

Medium Work:
Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Working Conditions:
The worker is subject to both environmental conditions. No effective protection from weather, activities occur outside. The worker is subject to noise.
