Real Estate Associate Attorney (2-10 Years)
Location: Los Angeles or Orange County
Direct Counsel is seeking a Real Estate Associate Attorney to join a highly regarded national midsize firm in its Los Angeles or Orange County office. This is an outstanding opportunity to join a sophisticated real estate practice representing developers and investors in complex transactional matters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a broad range of commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, financing, and leasing matters
- Draft and negotiate purchase and sale agreements
- Conduct and oversee due diligence, including title and survey review
- Prepare and review leases, subleases, licenses, and easements
- Assist with loan documents, joint ventures, LLC operating agreements, and limited partnership agreements
- Support developers and investors on sophisticated real estate transactions from inception through closing
Qualifications:
- 2-10 years of real estate transactional experience at a law firm
- Strong background handling acquisitions, sales, financing, and leasing transactions
- Experience with purchase and sale agreements and real estate due diligence
- Familiarity with joint venture structures and finance documents
- Experience with transactions involving eminent domain is a plus
- Excellent academic credentials
- Active California bar admission required
Compensation & Benefits:
- Base salary range: $150,000 - $300,000, depending on experience
- Annual bonus eligibility, including a 15% bonus opportunity tied to billable expectations
- Billable hour target: 1,850 hours, including approved pro bono time
