Railroad Project Manager
Location: Onsite, Southaven, MS
Direct Hire | $65,000 – $85,000 + Bonus + Vehicle
Are you a hands-on leader with experience in railroad construction or heavy civil projects? This is an opportunity to step into a high-impact role where you will own projects from start to finish and work directly with industry-leading railroad clients across the Southeast.
We are partnering with a well-established railroad construction and maintenance contractor seeking a Rail Project Manager to lead field operations, manage crews, and drive projects to successful completion safely, on time, and within budget.
What You’ll Do
- Lead the full lifecycle of railroad construction and maintenance projects
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and cost controls to ensure profitability
- Oversee field crews, subcontractors, and equipment coordination
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and key stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with FRA, OSHA, and railroad safety standards
- Conduct site visits to monitor progress, quality, and safety
- Identify risks early and implement solutions to avoid delays and overruns
- Partner with estimating and operations teams during project planning
- Build strong client relationships and support ongoing business growth
What You Bring
- 5+ years of project management experience in railroad, track, or heavy civil construction
- Strong knowledge of rail infrastructure, maintenance-of-way, or similar environments
- Experience managing multiple crews and subcontractors in the field
- Proven ability to manage budgets and control project costs
- Working knowledge of FRA regulations and safety compliance
- Ability to travel regionally to job sites as needed
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
Nice to Have
- Experience working with Class I or short-line railroads
- PMP certification
- Background in environmental or infrastructure-related projects
