Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Radiologic Technologist III, you will performs all radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures at a technical level not requiring supervision to technical detail. Performs a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgement, with ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis. Assumes responsibility for specific radiographic procedures, angiography or cardiac cath procedures, CT or MRI procedures, and or mammography procedures.

Every day you willDemonstrate ability to produce high quality radiographs with any type of equipment within department.

Functions with confidence in surgery. Maintain a repeat rate below 5%. Submits quality images. i.e., optimal positioning, free of artifacts, optimal contrast timing.

To be successful in this role, you must

  • Follow all radiation protection guidelines, as listed in Title 17, California Radiation Control Regulations.
  • Comply with film badge policy 100% of the time.
  • Shield patients per protocol 100% of the time.
  • Record female patients LMP 100% of the time.
  • Follow proper storage and upkeep of lead aprons and gloves 95% of the time.
  • Follow appropriate protection protocols for other employees and/or family members in the radiology areas.
  • Monitor all equipment use and function.
  • Reports all malfunctions of equipment to immediate Supervisor.
  • Fills out appropriate paperwork, if indicated.
  • Follows directions of appropriate person in repair or adjusting use of equipment.
  • Works unsupervised and demonstrates competence in all routine, fluoroscopic, and X-Ray procedures
  • Must be able to run the floor in absense of the Radiology Supervisor.

Job Requirements

Required

  • Rad Tech II with 15 years or more experience at Rad Tech II level
  • Supervisor or 5 years experience and certified and/or competent in two other modalities (i.e. CT, MRI, Mammography)
  • Must be willing to work in all 3 areas
  • X-Ray (Interventional Fluoroscopy) and two of the following:
    • Mammo (Stereotatic Breast Biopsy, Mammography QA, 5 years Mammo experience)
    • CT (Interventional CT, 3D image reconstruction)
    • MRI (Interventional MR, 3D image reconstruction, 1 year experience)
  • Current CPR-AHA Certification
  • X-Ray-Certified Radiologic Technologist and Fluoroscopy License and ARRT; and two of the following:
    • Mammo-Certified Radiologic Technologist and ARRT
    • CT-ARRT
    • MRI-ARRT
