Fleet Maintenance: Diagnose, repair, and maintain GFL’s diverse Diesel and CNG fleet, including engine components, emission systems, and steering mechanisms.
Systems Repair: Perform standard electronic diagnostics and repair complex electrical and hydraulic systems.
Inspections: Conduct thorough DOT and brake inspections to ensure every vehicle meets safety regulations before hitting the road.
Operational Performance: Execute work orders as scheduled by shop leadership, ensuring repairs are completed efficiently and accurately.
Diagnostics & Testing: Test drive vehicles to diagnose malfunctions and verify that all repairs meet GFL’s high performance standards.
Administrative Accuracy: Maintain digital records, complete work orders, and order parts daily with a high degree of detail.
Safety & Environment: Maintain a clean, professional work area and strictly adhere to all OSHA and DOT safety regulations.
Experience: 3+ years of hands-on diesel maintenance experience (CNG experience is a major plus).
Certifications: * Required: Brake Safety Certification and 609 A/C System Certification.
Preferred: Active ASE certifications.
Licensing: Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) preferred, or the ability to obtain one within six (6) months of hire.
Technical Aptitude: Ability to read and interpret safety rules, maintenance instructions, and technical manuals. Proficiency with diagnostic software and general computer literacy.
Communication: Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with team members and communicate effectively with vendors.
Ability to stand, kneel, crouch, or crawl for extended periods while performing repairs.
Sustained mental and visual focus for diagnostic and safety inspection tasks.
Ability to reach above shoulders, lift up to 50 lbs, and push/pull up to 100 lbs.
Comfortable operating heavy trucks and equipment in a fast-paced shop environment.
