Job Title: Quality & Manufacturing Technician


Reports To: The Quality & Manufacturing Technician will report to the Director of Manufacturing.

Job Overview: Vertiq is currently seeking a self-motivated Quality & Manufacturing Technician who has a high attention to detail and is process-driven and able to work in small, cross-disciplinary teams. Their primary focus will be to perform assembly and calibration of Vertiq’s propulsion systems. The company is located in Philadelphia, PA. This will be an on-site role.


Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Perform precision assembly operations, including soldering, calibration, testing, and final integration of Vertiq’s integrated BLDC motors, electronics, and PCB-based products in accordance with documented work instructions and quality standards
  • Conduct incoming inspection of raw materials, components, and supplier-delivered goods to verify conformance to specifications and quality requirements prior to release to production
  • Execute in-process and final inspections, functional tests, and verification activities to ensure products meet performance, workmanship, and reliability standards throughout the manufacturing process
  • Identify product nonconformities, manufacturing defects, and process inefficiencies; document findings and collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to support root cause analysis, corrective actions, and process improvements
  • Maintain accurate production and quality records, including inspection results, test data, traceability documentation, and work instruction sign-offs, to support compliance and continuous improvement
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by recommending enhancements to assembly methods, inspection processes, tooling, and workflow efficiency to improve product quality and manufacturing throughput
  • Ensure workstations, tools, and test equipment are properly maintained, organized, and calibrated to support safe, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing operations
  • Adhere to all company safety, ESD, and quality system requirements while maintaining a clean and organized production environment


Qualifications:

  • Associate’s Degree in quality or manufacturing engineering
  • 2+ years of experience in hardware assembly
  • Experience following standard operating procedures and work instructions as part of an ISO-compliant Quality Management System
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality


Preferred:

  • Experience working with drone propulsion systems or other robotic actuation systems
  • Experience with PCBA electronics assembly or contract manufacturing of electronic products
