Job Description:
Reporting to the Plant Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the administration of the basic requirements of the QMS, including quality orientation training, calibrations, dock audits, receiving inspection, product containment, written work instructions, and print review. Support the company goals of Zero Defects and 100% On-Time Delivery in a cost-efficient manner.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise daily activities of Quality Tech(s) and/or Quality Inspector(s).
- Manage Nonconforming and Cost of Quality data
- Measuring Equipment Calibration. Monitoring and directing customer audit, containment, gage calibration, and hold area activities.
- Customer Print Review/Document Control. Ensuring audit inspection records comply with department / customer requirements.
- Perform containment activities for quality issues, initial contact for customer complaints.
- Provide QA support to manufacturing, assist QA department peers as requested.
- QMS Auditing, as well as Safety Audits as needed. Participate in weekly Safety Committee meetings.
- Manage Corrective Action Process for both external and internal event. Prompt and clear communication of deficiencies detected during department inspection processes.
- Administration / oversight of the Color Management System including: receive-inspect; analysis of inspection results using a Gloss Meter and related software; problem analysis and resolution; setup trial runs, color matching; create / maintain CCM and PCM standards; employee color testing; initiating color-related ECO’s.
- Quality Orientation Training of new mfg. employees
- Maintain a clean and organized work area; follow daily housekeeping and 5S standards.
- Promote and maintain a culture and attitude of continuous improvement, working within the company team to make it more efficient, safety and an enjoyable place to work. Anticipate customer needs giving high priority to customer satisfaction and service.
Requirements
Qualifications and Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of Quality experience required; a suitable combination of education and experience will also be considered.
- Minimum of 1 year supervisory experience preferred in a manufacturing or QA/QC environment
- High school diploma required.
Strength in the following areas required:
- Microsoft Office experience (word, outlook, excel)
- Excellent organizational and follow up skills
- Strong communication skills (verbal, written and presentation)
- Quality Measuring Instruments (calipers, no-go gauges, optical comparator, scales, etc.)
- Understanding of QA methodologies (calibration, receiving, inspection, corrective action, gauging, etc.)
Experience in the following areas is preferred:
- ERP/MRP Experience
- Quality Engineer Certification (CQE)
- 5S/Lean Manufacturing
- ISO 9001
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
- The noise level in our work environment is moderate.
- Safety glasses and closed-toe shoes must be worn on the production floor.
- Some travel, mostly local, is occasionally required.
