The Quality Technician supports the Quality Manager in ensuring all aerospace components meet stringent industry and customer specifications. This position plays a critical role in the inspection, testing, and documentation of product quality throughout the manufacturing process. The Quality Technician is responsible for executing quality control procedures, conducting dimensional and visual inspections, assisting with root cause analysis of non-conformances, and maintaining accurate quality records.

Working closely with production, engineering, and quality teams, the Quality Technician ensures compliance with AS9100 standards, customer requirements, and internal procedures. The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, experience with precision measurement tools, and a working knowledge of aerospace material specifications and forging processes.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections of forged aerospace components to ensure compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards
  • Accurately use precision measurement instruments such as micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and optical comparators to verify product dimensions
  • Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions, including GD&T requirements
  • Document inspection results clearly and accurately, maintaining records in accordance with AS9100 and company procedures
  • Identify, document, and report non-conformances; assist in root cause analysis and the implementation of corrective and preventive actions
  • Support the calibration and maintenance of inspection tools and gauges
  • Participate in internal and external audits, as required
  • Communicate quality issues to production, engineering, and quality management in a timely and professional manner
  • Assist in training production personnel on basic quality inspection techniques and standards
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, process capability, and overall customer satisfaction
  • Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area.

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or GED required, associate degree or technical certification in Quality, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field preferred
  • Minimum of 2–4 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 1 year in a quality assurance or inspection role
  • Working knowledge of AS9100 or ISO 9001 quality systems
  • Proficiency in using precision measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, height gauges, optical comparators)
  • Familiarity with blueprint reading and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Experience with non-conformance reporting, root cause analysis, and corrective action processes
  • Exposure to NADCAP, NDT, or CMM inspection is a plus
  • Basic computer skills and experience with quality management systems (QMS) or ERP software
