Job Title: Quality Control Technician
Job Description

The Quality Control Technician provides hands-on support to the Quality Assurance laboratory and assists with ongoing quality initiatives. This role supports production quality, raw material testing, and continuous improvement efforts under the guidance of the QA Lab Supervisor.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with obtaining laboratory supplies and calibrating QA equipment to ensure accurate testing results.
  • Analyze production and raw material samples for physical and chemical characteristics.
  • Investigate quality and production issues, including customer complaints, as directed by supervision.
  • Prepare and package samples for internal teams and external customers.
  • Maintain accurate and timely quality and production records using computerized systems.
  • Assist the Quality Assurance Supervisor with maintaining ISO 9001 quality system requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures and applicable government regulations.
  • Recommend improvements to working conditions or equipment use to enhance safety and efficiency.
  • Support ad-hoc quality projects and additional tasks as assigned by management.
Essential Skills
  • Proficiency in quality control and quality assurance practices.
  • Ability to use measuring tools and troubleshoot mechanical issues.
  • Experience in maintaining accurate records and analyzing samples.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Forklift experience is preferred.
  • Experience with ISO 9001 quality system requirements.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and perform physical activities such as walking, bending, reaching, and climbing stairs.

Work Environment

Work is primarily performed in a laboratory environment with exposure to chemicals; personal protective equipment (PPE) is required. Occasional work in production areas with moderate to high noise levels.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Salem, OR.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $23.00/hr.
