Pride Health is seeking an Quality Control Technician for an American multinational conglomerate operating in the fields of industry, worker safety, healthcare, and consumer goods.


Job Title: Quality Control Technician

Location: Cottage Grove, MN (On-Site)

Job Type: Contract

Length: 6-Months

Schedule may not be 8 hours by 5 days a week but be rotating 12-hour shifts that amount to a standard schedule.

Pay Rate: Commensurate with experience


Overview:

Our client is seeking Quality Control Technicians to work in an analytical chemistry laboratory responsible for ensuring the quality of materials coming from both a major chemical factory and chemical pilot plant. Testing will be done on incoming raw materials, in-process samples, and final samples that are tested as part of product release. Additionally, there will be opportunities to test pilot-scale material under development and give critical feedback on new testing methods.

This job is fast-paced (samples being analyzed in a shift), collaborative, and vital to ensuring the quality of products.


Responsibilities:

This person will be responsible for but not limited to the following specific duties:

  • Perform and report the results of analytical testing for quality control purposes on manufactured products and their input raw materials
  • Perform other quality control activities including: calibrating analytical instrumentation, evaluating new test methods for R&D teams, and conducting measurement systems analyses
  • Be responsible for independently prioritizing incoming testing and other quality control needs
  • Collaborating with manufacturing engineers, chemists, and other technicians to communicate the status of testing, any challenges encountered in testing, and any out-of-specification results
  • May perform minor troubleshooting on equipment and instrumentation to resolve anomalies and may escalate these challenges to conduct troubleshooting alongside other staff
  • Will likely work a rotating schedule that includes overnight shifts


Requirements:

  • Experience in systems for the reporting and analysis of data in laboratory settings
  • Proficiency with the following analytical technical skillsets and the sample preparation techniques required for each: titrations, gas chromatography, and liquid chromatography
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft 365 software platform including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams
  • Basic understanding of statistical principles relevant to quality control
  • Ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced environment
  • High school diploma/GED or higher required


Preferences:

  • Proficiency with one or more of the following analytical technical skillsets and the sample preparation techniques required for each: inductive-coupled plasma optical emission spectroscopy, FTIR spectroscopy, viscometry/rheology
  • ASQ certification as a quality technician
  • Bachelor's degree in the physical sciences, biology, or engineering preferred
