Quality Control Expert – AISC Certified

We’re partnering with a growing structural steel fabrication company in the Pacific Northwest to find a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) who can take real ownership of weld quality, compliance, and inspection processes across the shop floor.

What you’ll do:
- Perform and document visual weld inspections
- Maintain inspection logs and material traceability through the shop traveler system
- Ensure compliance with AISC standards and applicable welding codes
- Prepare drawings and data for inspections
- Coordinate with third-party inspectors
- Help protect the company’s quality reputation by preventing defects from leaving the shop
- Support recordkeeping and documentation in TEKLA PowerFab if needed (trainable)
What we’re looking for:
- CWI certification strongly preferred
- Experience working with AISC requirements
- Hands-on weld inspection experience in a fabrication environment
- Comfortable being on the shop floor and working closely with production
- Strong attention to detail, accountability, and a team-first mindset
Nice to have:
- Structural steel fabrication background
- TEKLA PowerFab experience
- Familiarity with AWS D1.1, welder qualifications, WPS/PQR review, NDT coordination, and related QC documentation processes
