Reports To: FSQA Manager
Summary/Objective
This position is responsible for both hands-on production operations and quality control activities, with your time divided between the two based on the current business needs. The ideal candidate will be able to successfully transition between various production functions to quality functions and then back again throughout a shift. Keeping in mind to stay in compliance to all federal and state regulations, 3rd party audits, product specifications, and specific customer requirements.
Quality Control Essential Functions
- Conduct receiving inspections on incoming raw materials.
- Collect and document product samples for testing or retention.
- Verify that labels, lot codes, and packaging meet specifications.
- Monitor and record Critical Control Points (CCPs) as defined in the HACCP plan.
- Perform environmental monitoring and pre-operational inspections as assigned.
- Using laboratory equipment to test products including thermometers, metal detectors, scales, water activity, and chemical titrations.
- Place items on Hold and perform a corrective action investigation.
Production Essential Functions
- Setup, operate and break down production line equipment including dicers, check weighers, and freeze-dryers.
- Monitor production line flow and make adjustments to maintain efficiency and throughput.
- Perform changeovers between production runs, including cleaning and sanitizing equipment.
- Follow batch records, production schedules, and work orders.
- Package, label, and palletize finished product according to specifications.
- Perform in-process checks such as weights, temperatures, and visual inspections.
- Identify and report equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with sanitation standards.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
The worker is subject to inside manufacturing conditions with manufacturing noise. They have infrequent exposure to outside environmental conditions, which includes minimal exposure to weather The worker can be subject to coolers, freezers, warmer production and warehouse areas.
Physical Demands
This job involves medium work exerting force occasionally and frequently to move objects.
The worker will be required to have a range of motion as follows:
- Often requires walking, moving, or climbing to accomplish tasks.
- Often requires standing for sustained periods of time.
- Occasionally requires stooping and reaching.
- Occasionally requires pushing using upper extremities to press against something with steady force.
- Occasionally requires pulling using upper extremities to exert force to draw, drag, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion.
- Lifting is required on an occasional basis.
- The ability to use pallet jacks is required on an occasional basis.
- Often requires feeling of products perceiving attributes of objects, such as size, shape, temperature, or texture by touching with skin, particularly that of fingertips.
- Repetitive Motions are required, which involve substantial movements of the arms, wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
- Be able to lift 30 lbs. on a regular basis.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
Full-time position work 5 days a week,
Expected Hours of Work: 8 hrs./day, 40 hrs./week. Start times vary. Overtime may be required on a regular basis.

Required Education and Experience
- Required to have basic knowledge of computer programs such as Excel, Word, and email.
- Ability to read and write in English.
- Possess fundamental mathematical skills (percentages, averages, subtracting tares, etc.).
