Overview

A recognized leader in institutional pharmacy services, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Quality & Compliance Manager to support the Massachusetts State Office for Pharmacy Services (SOPS) contract.


This role is responsible for leading medication safety, regulatory compliance, and continuous quality improvement across a complex, multi-site healthcare environment. The position plays a critical role in ensuring pharmacy operations adhere to best practices, regulatory standards, and contractual requirements while strengthening overall organizational capability.


About the Role


This is a key leadership position focused on driving quality, compliance, and patient safety outcomes across the program. The Quality & Compliance Manager partners closely with operational and clinical leadership to ensure consistent execution of quality initiatives and regulatory requirements.

You will play a central role in developing, mentoring, and aligning teams to support sustained high performance, while implementing structured processes that promote compliance, accountability, and continuous improvement.

This position reports directly to the Program Operations Manager – Healthcare (SOPS Contract) and serves as the primary leader responsible for execution of quality and compliance initiatives across the program.


Responsibilities and Duties


  • Lead medication safety programs, including event reporting, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation
  • Oversee quality assurance and continuous quality improvement (CQI) initiatives across all sites
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and accrediting body requirements
  • Conduct ongoing regulatory surveillance and implement process enhancements as needed
  • Oversee site inspections, audits, and compliance reviews to ensure adherence to established standards
  • Analyze quality data, including medication safety trends and operational metrics, to drive performance improvement
  • Provide oversight of automation systems (e.g., Omnicell) to support efficient inventory management and utilization
  • Oversee sterile compounding quality processes, including environmental monitoring and compliance with applicable standards
  • Lead regulatory reporting and contribute to monthly and ad hoc reporting deliverables
  • Collaborate with operational and clinical leadership to support performance improvement initiatives
  • Supervise and develop quality and automation staff, ensuring alignment with program priorities
  • Lead the development, maintenance, and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure ongoing compliance and operational consistency
  • Execute and operationalize quality and compliance initiatives in alignment with Program Operations leadership
  • Develop, mentor, and align teams to strengthen organizational capability and sustain high performance


What We’re Looking For


  • 3–5 years of experience in healthcare quality, compliance, or pharmacy operations
  • Strong background in, or demonstrated passion for, medication safety, regulatory compliance, and quality improvement
  • Experience supporting audits, inspections, and regulatory readiness activities
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams and contribute to the development of future leaders
  • Experience with data analysis, reporting, and performance improvement initiatives
  • Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills


Education & Credentials

Education: Master’s degree, PharmD, or Bachelor’s degree in a related field required; candidates with a Bachelor’s degree must have at least 5 years of relevant experience

Additional certifications (Lean, quality, or patient safety) are a plus
