Quality Assurance Supervisor

A growing food manufacturing company specializing in premium baked goods and dessert products is seeking a Quality Assurance Supervisor to join its team in Newburyport, MA! This role is responsible for overseeing daily production floor quality activities, supervising QA staff, and helping maintain a strong food safety and quality culture across the facility.

This is a 2nd Shift position, 4 days on, 3 days off.

Monday – Thursday | 2:00 PM – 12:00 AM

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise daily activities of QA Technicians, including coaching, training, and performance support
• Provide guidance to Operations and QA teams on quality and food safety matters
• Communicate daily production schedules, quality priorities, and floor issues with QA staff
• Maintain inventory of lab/testing supplies and coordinate training for new equipment or vendors
• Review and organize production and quality documentation daily
• Support internal, customer, regulatory, and third-party audits
• Assist with hold, traceability, and recall programs, including reporting and documentation
• Ensure compliance with GMPs, food safety policies, and company procedures
• Support initiatives to reduce foreign material contamination risks
• Oversee product release processes
• Review finished product quality and customer complaints to identify trends and improvements
• Promote a positive, accountable culture on the production floor

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Biology, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered
• Experience in Quality Assurance within a food manufacturing environment
• 2+ years of supervisory or team lead experience preferred
• Working knowledge of SQF, HACCP, GMP, and food safety programs
• Relocation up to $5k offered.
