Job Summary

BNY is seeking a QA Analyst to support the implementation of a new corporate actions application. This role will focus on designing and executing testing strategies, validating system functionality and data quality, and supporting integration efforts to ensure accurate and reliable corporate action event processing for clients.


This role is based in Pittsburgh, PA, with an onsite expectation of four days per week and one day remote.


Key Responsibilities

• Manual Testing & Validation: Execute functional, integration, and data quality testing to validate corporate action event processing and system outputs.

• Requirements & Test Case Development: Review and interpret requirements, create test cases, and ensure full coverage across application functionality and messaging connectivity.

• Jira Management & Defect Tracking: Create, update, and manage Jira tickets for defects, test results, and workflow tracking throughout the testing lifecycle.

• Corporate Actions Processing Support: Validate corporate action events (e.g., stock splits, voluntary actions) and ensure accurate capture and communication of client elections.

• System Integration Testing: Support the configuration and testing of system integrations, ensuring connectivity between multiple data sources and downstream systems.

• Documentation & Process Creation: Develop detailed “how-to” guides, procedures, and documentation to support system usage and operational processes.

• User Training & Enablement: Train internal users on the new application post-implementation, ensuring smooth adoption across global teams.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with technology teams, SMEs, and other testers to identify issues, escalate risks, and drive resolution.

• UAT & Production Readiness: Support User Acceptance Testing and assist in preparing the application for production rollout.


Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in manual testing, QA, or UAT support

• Familiarity with Jira for defect tracking, test management, and workflow updates

• Strong understanding of software testing methodologies (unit, integration, regression, UAT)

• Strong understanding of software testing processes, including functional and integration testing

• Ability to document processes, write procedures, and create test cases

• Strong attention to detail with a focus on data accuracy and quality

• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams

• Ability to quickly learn new systems and adapt in a fast-paced environment

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent experience)


Preferred Experience

• Experience within financial services or capital markets environments

• Exposure to corporate actions (e.g., stock splits, dividends, voluntary actions)

• Experience working in Agile environments

• Background in project-based work including requirements gathering and test planning

• Experience training users or supporting global system rollouts

• Familiarity with test automation tools or QA frameworks
