Job Title: QC Inspector

Job Description

The QC Inspector performs inspections of materials and finished products at all stages of the manufacturing process to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications. This role uses a variety of precision measuring tools, carefully documents quality data, and supports both in-process and final inspections within a cable and connector production environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform incoming inspections of raw materials to verify they meet required specifications before use in production.
  • Conduct in-process inspections throughout the manufacturing cycle to ensure products remain within defined quality standards.
  • Carry out final inspections of completed products, confirming that all customer and internal specifications are met.
  • Use precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and vernier instruments to measure components accurately.
  • Inspect RF-related components and soldered connections, identifying defects or nonconformities when present.
  • Review and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to understand product requirements and inspection criteria.
  • Accurately record and document quality inspection data in the appropriate systems or forms.
  • Support cable cutting, bagging, and packaging activities while maintaining quality control over materials and finished goods.
  • Assist with low-level connector assembly tasks as needed, ensuring assemblies meet quality standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with company procedures.
  • Collaborate with a small team to resolve quality issues and communicate findings to appropriate personnel.
  • Lift and move materials or product up to 50 pounds as required in the inspection and packaging process.

Essential Skills

  • 3+ years of experience in quality inspection.
  • Proficiency using measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and vernier instruments.
  • Hands-on inspection experience, including in-process and final inspection activities.
  • Ability to accurately document and record quality data.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Strong basic math skills to support measurement and inspection work.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy in all inspection tasks.
  • Strong computer skills for data entry and documentation.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Work Environment

The role is based in a climate-controlled manufacturing facility focused on designing and assembling RF and microwave interconnect products. The QC Inspector works closely with a small team of approximately three people and interacts with cables, connectors, and related components throughout the inspection process. The schedule typically runs from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., providing a steady daytime shift. The environment is professional, with a clean-cut, neat appearance preferred. Work involves regular use of precision measuring tools, computers for data entry, and handling materials and products that may weigh up to 50 pounds.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Peabody, MA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
