Job Title: Quality Control Associate I - 1st Shift (Tues-Sat)
Job Description

Join a dynamic team where you will perform essential testing and analysis to support the development of methods for flow cytometry and cell analysis. You will engage in cell culture, cell counting, and quality control analysis, providing valuable input to improve workflow and laboratory activities. As a key member of our team, you will also help train and oversee new employees, ensuring the accurate execution of company and client test methods to guarantee the safety and efficacy of cellular products.

Responsibilities

  • Execute test methods and procedures for cellular products according to company and client guidelines.
  • Perform maintenance, monitoring, and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment, ensuring routine start-ups and shutdowns are completed.
  • Document and report test results for products or materials following CGMP and GTP guidelines.
  • Organize laboratory supplies and maintain a clean and orderly lab environment.
  • Assist in equipment and method qualification and validation activities.
  • Cross-train in methods for multiple clients to enhance lab efficiency.
  • Upload data in real-time to shared drives or client SharePoint sites.
  • Prepare reagents and media, and respond to equipment alarms.
  • Investigate and report on out-of-specification, out-of-trend, and non-conforming test results.
  • Initiate, investigate, and prepare deviation reports with supervisor input.
  • Document training and manage the shipping of test samples to contract laboratories.
  • Communicate effectively with coworkers, departments, management, and clients.
  • Assist in training other Quality Control technicians.
Essential Skills
  • 2 years of experience performing flow cytometry assays and endotoxin testing.
  • 1-2 years of experience with cell culture.
  • Experience in a quality control setting with test methodologies.
  • Proficiency in microbiology test methods and equipment use.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related scientific field.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience in CGMP/GTP environments is preferred.
  • Prior laboratory experience in cell counting methodologies is advantageous.
  • Experience in clinical laboratory, microbiology, hematology, blood banking, or immunology.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Visio software.
  • Experience with paper-based testing and documentation.
Work Environment

The role operates on a 1st shift schedule from Tuesday to Saturday, 6 AM to 2:30 PM. Training occurs Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 4:30 PM. You will work in an aseptic quality environment as part of the Analytical Team, reporting to a quality control manager. Flexibility is required, as cell and gene therapy processes may experience delays. The position involves a collaborative setting with opportunities for growth and development within the company.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Allendale, NJ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $31.00/hr.
