We are looking for a Purchasing Manager to join a well-established, family-owned engineering and manufacturing company that produces precision instrumentation for industrial, aerospace, and medical device applications. Key Responsibilities
- Establish and lead the purchasing function, implementing processes and best practices
- Develop and manage strong supplier relationships to ensure quality, reliability, and cost efficiency
- Source and evaluate new vendors while maintaining a robust supplier network
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers
- Plan and manage inventory levels to support production while controlling costs
- Partner with engineering, production, and quality teams to meet technical requirements
- Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues related to quality or delivery
- Ensure timely procurement of materials to prevent production delays
- Analyze purchasing data to identify cost savings and improve efficiency
- Collaborate directly with executive leadership to align purchasing strategy with business goals
Qualifications:
- 4–7 years of purchasing, procurement, or supply chain experience within a manufacturing environment
- Experience sourcing mechanical and/or electronic components preferred
- Strong negotiation skills with experience supporting cost reduction initiatives and supplier relationships
- Experience in aerospace, medical device, or other regulated industries is a plus, not required
- Solid understanding of inventory planning and supply chain coordination
- Comfortable working cross-functionally with engineering, production, and quality teams
- Experience using ERP/MRP systems
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication skills with the ability to interact with suppliers and internal stakeholders
