Purchasing Assistant - Up to $57K annually DOE!

Integrity Trade Services is hiring a Purchasing Assistant for our manufacturing client to start immediately at $57K annually DOE! Receive comprehensive benefits through our client upon hire!
Responsibilities:
The Purchasing Assistant supports the purchasing team by coordinating purchase order activity, maintaining records, and helping ensure materials and services are procured accurately and on time. This role focuses heavily on raw material demand analysis, MRP planning, supplier communication, and inventory support to help meet production deadlines and business needs.
- Run MRP on alternating days with the Senior Buyer, review order book demand and history, and issue purchase orders based on supplier releases.
- Monitor stocking levels regularly to ensure safety stock requirements are maintained.
- Communicate shortages, changes, and other supply issues to management and Customer Service to help prevent production interruptions.
- Support tooling and new product purchase orders as requested by the Senior Buyer.
- Print and file purchase orders and supplier acknowledgements daily.
- Coordinate purchasing activities with Manufacturing, Scheduling, Engineering, and Customer Service to secure inventory in a cost-effective and timely manner.
- Expedite orders when approved.
- Place weekly orders for consumables and production supplies.
- Maintain ISO, IATF, and other required certificates to support compliance.
- Set up new suppliers and collect required documentation.
- Schedule and expedite subcontracted work orders.
- Process pricing updates in Business Central as needed.
- Maintain accurate records while staying organized and detail-oriented.
- Build and maintain professional relationships with suppliers and help resolve issues related to pricing, quality, timing, and backorders.
- Run and review late reports for daily deliveries.
- Assist the Purchasing Manager with additional tasks as needed.
- Follow company handbook procedures and complete assigned ROI responsibilities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Location: Grand Rapids, MI
Schedule/Shift Details: 8:00am-5:00pm M-F
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
- Experience using a PC and working in an office environment.
- Familiarity with MRP/ERP systems or inventory control systems, preferably Business Central.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
- Excellent organization and time management skills with the ability to prioritize work based on business needs.
- Ability to define problems, gather data, draw conclusions, and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work under deadlines with changing priorities and minimal supervision.
- Team-oriented mindset with the ability to follow direction and work collaboratively.
Physical Requirements
- Primarily office-based with occasional exposure to production areas.
- May be required to wear personal protective equipment or other safety equipment as needed.
- Must be able to sit for extended periods and use hands for computer-based work.
- May occasionally lift objects up to 25 pounds.
