Public Health Faculty Position (Assistant/ Associate/ Full Professor)

The Department of Public Health and Health Sciences in the Dennis R. DePerro School of Health Professions at St.Bonaventure University invites applications for afull-time, 9-month, tenure-track faculty positionat the rank of either Assistant, Associate, or Full Professorin Public Health and Health Science. We seek qualified candidates with strong teaching and research experience in one or more of the following areas: i) Epidemiology; ii)Population Health; iii) Health Education and Community Health; iv) Implementation Science.

The successful candidate will join a growing and mission-driven academic community committed to preparing compassionate, skilled, and socially responsible health professionals. Faculty in the School of Health Professions work collaboratively across programs to advance student learning, research, and community engagement, with an emphasis on expanding access to health care in rural and underserved communities.

  • Teach under graduate and/ or graduate courses in Public Health and HealthSciences
  • Maintain an active program ofscholarship
  • Engage in student advising and mentoring.
  • Contribute to curriculum development, program assessment, and accreditationprocesses.
  • Participate in service at the department, school, university, community and professional levels.

Teaching Load:

The standard teaching work load is 12 credit hours per semester (or equivalent), with adjustments made for faculty who have assigned research, administrative, or externally funded responsibilities that provide release time. Preferred teaching areas include courses such as Research Methods and Epidemiology, as well as advanced public health topics aligned with the candidate's expertise and departmental needs.

  • An earned doctorate (Ph.D., Dr.P.H. ,or related terminal degree coupled with experience) in Public Health from an accredited institution.
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching and student engagement at the undergraduate and/or graduate level.
  • Evidence of scholarly, extramural grants or professional accomplishments is appropriate to rank.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Post-doctoralexperiences
  • Record of external grant funding and/ or a sustained program of research appropriate to rank (required for Associate or Full Professor consideration).
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching, mentoring, and curriculuminnovation.
  • Experience or leadership in program administration, interprofessional education and collaborative practice (required for Associate or Full Professor consideration).
  • Engagement in community-based public health initiatives, particularly those addressing health disparities.
  • Experience or demonstrated interest in rural health practice, education, orresearch.
  • CHES /MCHES/ CPH or eligible.

TheDepartment of Public Health and Health Sciences is an innovative and rapidly growing department within the University. The Department offers primarily in-person undergraduate programs and minors in Public Health and Health Sciences, and a graduate program in Public Health, which is currently being reimagined.
