Internship Overview
The Falcone Institute Psychoeducational Coach Internship provides personal and didactic developmental knowledge and skill-based methodologies required to address the emotional, social and academic issues of our client population. Interns participate with the Falcone Institute team to enhance clients’ learning experiences through skill development, content mastery, and whole brain learning strategies. Through structured training and mentorship in the Falcone Method©, interns learn evidence-based and innovative techniques while discovering their own potential as transformative learning facilitators.

Internship Responsibilities
Under supervision, interns will:
- Assist in providing individualized psychoeducational support through one-on-one and small group sessions with children and teens.
- Observe and gradually participate in specialized cognitive enhancement programs.
- Support neurocognitive training sessions to optimize outcomes.
- Learn to implement academic support strategies across subjects and grade levels.
- Practice applying various methodologies for skill-acquisition and reinforcement.
- Assist with stress management and emotional regulation techniques.
- Complete detailed session documentation and progress tracking.
- Participate in collaborative team meetings and program discussions.
- Complete assigned training modules and engage in regular supervision and feedback sessions.
Intern Candidate Profile
Required:
- Currently an upper-classman or recent graduate in neuropsychology, cognitive science, STEAM education, psychology, or related fields
- Strong academic performance (minimum 3.0 GPA)
- Excellent interpersonal skills with sensitivity to diverse learning needs
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities
- Strong organizational abilities with keen attention-to-detail and information synthesis
- Resourceful critical thinking skills in dynamic environment
- Openness to learning and receiving constructive feedback
- Proficiency in high school-level math and science concepts
Preferred:
- Previous experience working with children, teens, or individuals with learning differences
- Spanish language proficiency
- Coursework in developmental psychology, special education, or related areas
- Volunteer or work experience in educational or therapeutic settings
Internship Details
Duration: This internship requires a minimum one-year commitment (notwithstanding at-will employment laws), with the opportunity for transitioning from an internship position to full-time Psychoeducational Coach.
Time Commitment: This is a part-time internship, offering between 20-25 hours per week, with potential for increased hours depending on client and coach availability.
Schedule:
· School year (early August through early June): 11:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. (Fridays until 6:00 p.m.)
· Summer (early June through early August): 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Compensation: $23 per hour
Location: Carmel Valley professional office with potential for some remote training components
