Role Description

This is a full-time on-site Prototype Machinist role located in Westmont, IL. The Prototype Machinist will be responsible for machining precision components using milling, lathe, and CNC equipment. Day-to-day activities include creating prototypes, programming CNC machines, and ensuring the accuracy and quality of fabricated parts. The role requires working closely with the engineering and design teams to bring innovative product designs to life.


Duties & Responsibilities

  • Machine prototype components that meet engineering drawings.
  • Create tools and fixtures from engineering drawings.
  • Perform low volume secondary operations on components or assemblies to be used in production of product.
  • Assemble products, fixtures or tools to meet specifications.
  • Modify or machine components as required on a case by case basis.


Qualifications

  • Read and write in English
  • Perform basic math and trigonometry as required to produce product.
  • Proficient using the following equipment:
  • Lathe and Mill
  • Surface Grinder
  • Drill Press
  • Band Saw
  • Calipers
  • Micrometer
  • Optical Comparator


Physical Requirements

·   Standing at equipment for long periods of time.

·    Ability to lift 40 pounds on a regular basis.
