Role: Accounting Manager
Role Overview:
As an Accounting Manager at RMK Management, you will play a pivotal role in upholding our commitment to financial excellence and integrity. We are seeking a seasoned professional with expertise in accounting, residential and commercial real estate, cash management and financial oversight. Your leadership and attention to detail will be instrumental in maintaining our high standards and fostering financial growth.
Responsibilities:
- Financial Oversight: Provide strategic financial guidance and oversight for our property management operations, ensuring accurate reporting and adherence to industry standards.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of staff accountants, fostering their professional growth and aligning their work with our financial goals.
- Monthly Financial Reviews: Conduct comprehensive monthly financial statement reviews for all properties, identifying trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
- Cash Management: Utilize your cash management experience to optimize the allocation and utilization of financial resources, enhancing our financial stability and growth.
- Budgeting Expertise: Contribute your expertise to the annual budgeting process for all properties, working collaboratively with other teams to align financial objectives.
- Construction Draw Management: Coordinate and handle the construction draw process, collaborating closely with the development team to ensure the accurate allocation of funds.
- Bank Reconciliation: Review monthly bank reconciliations to maintain financial accuracy and compliance, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
- Effective Communication: Establish clear and open lines of communication with Owners, Regional and Property Managers to ensure the timely and precise reporting of financial statements.
- Audit and Tax Compliance: Assist in the preparation and review of audit and tax workpapers, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Special Projects: Undertake and manage additional projects as needed to support the organization's financial objectives and growth.

Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Familiarity with accounting software such as Yardi.
- Experience with SharePoint is a plus.
Education and Experience:
- Degree in accounting is required.
- CPA certification is preferred.
- A minimum of 7 years of professional accounting experience, with a focus on residential and/or commercial real estate development and operations, and demonstrated cash management expertise.
