Job description:
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with a proven background in managing public roadway and infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience overseeing FDOT or local government projects from bid through closeout, with strong attention to cost control, scheduling, and compliance.
You will manage project budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and client relationships while ensuring that work is completed safely, on time, and in accordance with contract documents and public standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of public roadway projects from award through completion.
- Oversee project budgets, forecasts, and cost controls.
- Maintain accurate schedules and coordinate field operations with superintendents and foremen.
- Ensure compliance with FDOT and municipal specifications, safety regulations, and quality standards.
- Review and approve submittals, RFIs, pay applications, and change orders.
- Interface with owners, engineers, inspectors, and utility agencies.
- Lead subcontractor coordination meetings and manage procurement of materials and services.
- Track progress, maintain documentation, and ensure timely closeout of projects.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience managing public roadway or infrastructure projects (FDOT or municipal experience preferred).
- Must have proven experience as project manager on multiple FDOT projects.
- Proficiency with project management and scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar).
- Ability to read and interpret civil construction plans, specifications, and contract documents.
- Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites as needed.
