Job Title: Project Manager / Estimator (Entry-Level)

Location: Brighton, MI (On-Site)

Compensation: $80,000 – $100,000 (Based on Experience)


Overview

A growing construction organization is seeking an entry-level Project Manager / Estimator to join its Preconstruction team. This role is ideal for early-career professionals looking to develop expertise in estimating, subcontractor coordination, and project execution within a collaborative environment. You’ll gain hands-on experience across the project lifecycle with a clear path for growth into senior preconstruction and estimating roles.


Key Responsibilities

Estimating & Preconstruction

  • Perform quantity takeoffs from drawings and specifications
  • Assist in developing cost estimates and pricing models
  • Analyze plans (architectural, structural, MEP) for scope and accuracy
  • Support cost tracking, benchmarking, and estimate documentation

Subcontractor & Project Coordination

  • Assist with bid solicitation, subcontractor communication, and proposal review
  • Identify scope gaps, overlaps, and clarifications
  • Support early procurement and project handoff to operations
  • Participate in internal and external project meetings

Tools & Systems

  • Utilize Bluebeam and/or takeoff software (PlanSwift, OST)
  • Use Excel for estimating, tracking, and reporting
  • Maintain organized project documentation and plans


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 2+ years of experience in construction, estimating, or project engineering
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills

Preferred:

  • Experience with Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or OST
  • Internship or field experience in commercial or industrial construction


Progression Opportunity:

  • Advance into Preconstruction Manager / Lead Estimator roles
  • Long-term path toward Senior Estimator / Director of Preconstruction
