Structured Cabling Project Manager – construction

Position Summary
As a Project Manager, you will provide overall leadership and drive success across multiple facets of construction projects. This position covers all aspects of construction, requiring a high level of autonomy, independent discretion, and project execution expertise.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead RFP development, estimating, and budgeting
- Oversee pre-bid coordination and procurement planning
- Manage all design phases and construction documents
- Conduct project meetings, distribute minutes, and maintain milestone reporting
- Manage daily field and office operations
- Review plans/specs for constructability, schedule, and risk mitigation
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules (including long-lead procurement items)
- Engage with customers to ensure fulfillment of requirements
- Coordinate and supervise design-build contractors
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and subject matter experts
- Oversee physical construction activities and support project execution
- Participate in commissioning activities
- Manage project closeout and turnover of documentation to the customer
- Submit monthly financial reporting including forecasting and cash flow
- Review contractor billing and validate progress through job walks
- Keep all project stakeholders informed throughout the project lifecycle
- Support contract negotiation and vendor management
- Oversee the RFI, submittal, and change order process
- Ensure all work meets engineering standards, customer requirements, codes, and specifications
- Drive lessons learned, process improvements, cost savings, and schedule optimization
- Maintain strong awareness of mission-critical facility operations
- Enforce safety standards and jobsite compliance (OSHA knowledge required)
Schedule shifts may include nights/weekends based on project needs
Qualifications
Required
- 3-5 years of experience managing construction projects
- Strong ability to manage multiple stakeholders, contractors, and schedules
- Strong understanding of construction budgets, procurement, and scheduling
Preferred
- OSHA 30-hour certification preferred
Technical Skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams)
Leadership Responsibilities
This role may supervise Superintendents, Project Coordinators, Assistant Project Managers, Project Managers, or a combination of related roles.
Physical Requirements
Ability to perform jobsite responsibilities including walking active construction sites, standing for extended periods, and occasionally lifting 10–50 pounds.
