Infrastructure Project Manager
Optomi, in partnership with an industry leader in the retail space, is searching for an experienced Project Manager focused within the IT infrastructure space. The role involves managing DC hardware refresh projects, including an $8.5 million initiative focused on replacing outdated hardware (tablets, laptops, etc.) across over 2,000 stores and 200 distribution centers. This person will drive projects end-to-end from initiation through handoff to operations, while also supporting store remediations and infrastructure updates. The environment includes a mix of high-volume, lower complexity projects (store updates, wireless/AP installs, IDF/MDF changes) alongside larger initiatives. The role requires heavy coordination with vendors, field teams, and internal infrastructure groups (networking, cybersecurity, servers), ensuring timely delivery, installation, and issue resolution.
About the Team Structure + Culture:
The team is described as friendly, collaborative, and highly communicative. There is strong leadership support, especially for escalation and issue resolution. The contractor will partner closely with an experienced project manager during onboarding, with the first two weeks spent onsite for training, acclimation to (client name) processes, and team integration. Emphasis is placed on team fit, communication style, and the ability to work well within a cohesive group.
