We are searching for a Project Management Transmission /Substation on behalf of our client. This is a 1-year contract assignment.(W-2) You will be responsible for managing the Early Stage (ES) process for High Voltage Transmission and Substation projects. ES Project Manager (PM) coordinates and supports the Engineering, Estimating, Supply Chain and Construction resources through the pre-construction (ES) activities for Transmission and Substation projects within the Engineering and Construction Business Unit (E&C).
Effectively balance scope, schedule, and costs on an ongoing basis. Manage change and ensure that all team members are “on the same page”.
Available to travel approximately 30% of the time.

Responsibilities
- Duties include the critical coordination of project activities such as Budget, Schedule, Procurement, Engineering, Permitting, and Land.
- The ES PM is responsible for ensuring that each project is ready to be turned over to the construction PM with an executable construction plan (including schedule, budget, permits, risks & mitigations, etc.).
- The Sr. PM will be responsible for leading a team of project managers and managing the portfolio for a given region.
- Day to day activities as the Early-Stage Project Manager include assisting in the development of project plans with emphasis on scope, constructability, schedule, and costs.
- The ES PM will coordinate multidisciplinary teams that includes Development, Land, Environmental, Procurement, Legal, Engineering, Operations, Interconnection support, etc.
- Prepare Request for Proposal documentation in order to competitively source, select and contract geotechnical, survey, engineering, material, equipment, and construction services.
- Support the cost estimating team with assumptions and delivering financial model inputs to the respective business unit.
- Owning the budget and being responsible to make sure the project stays on budget.
- Managing the project schedule and communicating key risks and to management.
- Generally responsible for representing the E&C’s interest on assigned projects, including presentations/briefing on current progress, issues and risk mitigation in meetings with various levels of management.
- This position is not responsible for the site-based construction management.
- Current portfolio of projects spans the US and Canada.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Equivalent Experience
- Experience: 8+ years
Preferred Qualifications
- PMP Certification
- Experience with large scale high voltage transmission and substation projects with a strong bias for action-oriented performers having solid business/commercial acumen.
- Experience leading direct reports
- Experience managing multiple projects >$100MM
