Insight Global is seeking a Sr. Safety Manager to join a GC Construction Client in Cincinnati, OH. This construction client is a large general contracting, construction management, and design build firm operating through the US in building, transportation and water sectors.
This HSE manager will work on a large 8+ year multi-billion dollar project supporting the infrastructure in Cincinnati supporting their bridges, roadways, ramps, and rivers. This manager will provide leadership and guidance to assigned project in the development and implementation of health, safety and environmental (EHS) processes. The HSE Manager will work on projects of greater complexity and have overall responsibility for process improvement.
Responsibilities:
1) Works directly with the Project Manager and the management team to develop and implement
an effective site-specific EHS plan, while adhering to all corporate, divisional, and regional EHS
programs and processes.
2) Assists Project Managers and EHS Managers/Specialists in the coordination of subcontractor
EHS protocols, including vendors and owner personnel working on company project(s).
Coordinates project EHS programs with subcontractors. Assists in planning and coordinating
work to eliminate hazards, minimize risks, and aggressively manage losses involving injuries or
property damages.
3) Coordinates quarterly comprehensive on-site EHS audits. Periodically inspects and evaluates
the project site, equipment and processes for compliance with applicable local, state and federal
regulations, as well as company and owner policies and procedures.
4) Conducts accident investigations and completes incident reporting for Project Management
review.
5) Accompanies injured employees to treatment and medical evaluation. Ensures all EHS protocols
are followed.
6) Advises Project Management on Industrial Hygiene protocols; performs Environmental
Monitoring.
7) Manages Company’s Drug-Free Workplace Policy, ensuring proper testing for Pre-Employment,
Vehicle Authorization, Reasonable Suspicion, Post-Accident, Random, and Follow-Up.
8) Provides training and education to Company personnel regarding EHS requirements, including
coordination of new hire EHS orientation programs.
