This position works out of our Sturgis, MI location in the Abbott Nutrition division. What You'll Work On

  • Lead the Abbott Nutrition Sturgis team of project engineers, validation engineers, and CAD technicians
  • Plan, direct, and manage multiple concurrent projects, balancing scope, schedule, cost, quality, and risk.
  • Define project scope and develop detailed plans, budgets, vendor strategies, resource models, and equipment needs.
  • Lead cross‑functional and cross‑site project teams, including internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Anticipate, assess, and mitigate strategic and tactical risks through proactive planning and scenario analysis.
  • Monitor project performance and value metrics; conduct audits and course‑correct as needed.
  • Communicate project status, influence stakeholders at all levels, and gain alignment without formal authority.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, vendors, contractors, and internal partners.
  • Drive adoption of project management tools, standards, and best practices across the organization.
  • Ensure compliance with quality, EHS&S, engineering standards, and applicable governance requirements.

You’ll be accountable for meeting our compliance standards including FDA, OSHA and Abbott policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a closely related discipline
  • 4+ years of experience related to significant engineering, project management, and/or manufacturing operations.
  • Proven ability to manage project scope, schedules, budgets, risks, and resources across complex initiatives.
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of end‑to‑end processes that support project delivery.
  • Demonstrated success leading projects across diverse teams, cultures, functions, and locations.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence, negotiate, and gain buy‑in at senior leadership levels.
  • Experience leading without formal authority and collaborating in fast‑paced, goal‑driven environments.
  • Solid understanding of financial controls, project accounting, procurement, and contracting processes.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Industry experience in healthcare, medical devices, diagnostics, pharmaceuticals, or nutritional products.
  • Project management certification (PMP).
  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
  • Demonstrated excellence in technical project management with a record of significant accomplishments.
  • Experience benchmarking internal and external best practices to drive continuous improvement.

The base pay for this position is $113,300.00 – $226,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
