Project Engineer – Commercial Construction


A reputable commercial construction team is seeking a Project Engineer with 3–5 years of experience to support a variety of ground up construction projects. This role provides coordination, documentation, and field support for projects such as schools, office buildings, churches, and mixed use industrial facilities.


Key Responsibilities

• Assist with planning, scheduling, budgeting, and overall project coordination.

• Maintain RFIs, submittals, change orders, drawing logs, daily reports, and project documentation.

• Support field operations with material tracking, quality control, and subcontractor coordination.

• Review drawings, specifications, and reports to ensure accuracy and alignment with project scope.

• Help manage inspections, permitting, and compliance paperwork.

• Coordinate communication between project managers, superintendents, subcontractors, and clients.

• Update project management systems and maintain organized, accurate project records.

• Monitor project progress and prepare updates identifying risks, delays, or needed adjustments.


Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience as a Project Engineer or similar role in commercial construction.

• Experience working on projects such as schools, offices, churches, or mixed use industrial buildings.

• Strong understanding of construction workflow, terminology, and documentation.

• Ability to read and interpret plans, specs, and technical drawings.

• Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction related software.


Preferred Qualifications

• Procore experience or Procore Certification (major plus).

• Experience using MS Project Planner and/or Primavera (P6) for scheduling.

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field.


Work Schedule

• 6:30 AM – 3:30 PM (30 minute lunch)

or

• 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM (30 minute lunch)
