Insight Global is seeking a Project Engineer to support one of our largest material handling logistics clients in Columbus, Indiana.
Title: Project Engineer (Automation and Production)
Location: 5559 Inwood Dr, Columbus, IN 47201
- Onsite everyday
- Pretty standard M-F business hours – some overtime
Pay Rate: $32-$40/hr – potential flexibility here dependent on years of experience!
Duration: 12-month contract to permanent hire
- W2 contract
- Eligible for benefits during contract duration
- Paid weekly
- Paid x1.5 for overtime
Start Date: ASAP – open due to new needs to automate processes onsite
Must haves:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or engineering technology (Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, Materials, Chemical) OR Associate degree in a technical field with relevant experience OR sufficient internship experience
- 1–7 years of experience in an industrial environment: planning for the procurement and commissioning of new equipment and robots/robotic arms to automate production
- Experience reviewing specifications and spec sheets, developing justifications for new equipment and robotic purchases, and supporting the investigation, design, planning, and management of multimillion‑dollar capital projects
- Background serving as a project expert and supporting the installation and commissioning of new robots and equipment
- Knowledge/experience with Yaskawa or Fanuc robots for automation (or any other robotic arm brand could work as well! Client has Fanuc on site)
Plusses:
- Liquid and powder coat paint application knowledge
- Knowledge of robotic paint application
- Experience working with different (E-stat, HVLP, AAA) paint application methods
- Understanding of paint system design and the benefits of different technologies
- Basic knowledge of chemical pretreatment systems and chemicals

Insight Global is seeking a Project Engineer to support one of our largest material handling logistics clients in Columbus, Indiana. This individual will serve as the project lead for production process optimization and robotic automation initiatives, driving efficiency across operations.
The Project Engineer will be responsible for planning, procuring, and integrating large-scale capital projects relating to robotic arms specifically, developing strategies from concept to managing execution. Planning for the implementation of these robotic arms, then going to the controls team, and the controls team is actually implementing! This role requires close cross-functional collaboration with procurement, manufacturing, and external vendors to ensure cost-effective, high-impact solutions.
