Job Function / Responsibilities
  • Be part of a team of New Product Implementation Engineers supporting development projects for new cabs, interiors, or outerbody components. Exact area of responsibility will be based on qualification, interests, and complete project portfolio coverage.
  • Complete all necessary Manufacturing Documents supporting approved project schedule
  • Track and report critical metrics (readiness, defects, documentation, communication).
  • Coordinate plant input for Manufacturing Engineering Requirements to Design Engineering
  • Develop Manufacturing and Operations requirements
  • Developing strategies and analyzing processes for new products and operational improvements in safety, quality, efficiency, cost, and capacity.
  • Review and develop new technologies for manufacturing, assembling, programming, and testing components and systems
  • Develop, assess, and implement processes for serial production based on new product features and technology.
  • Lead efforts in Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA).
  • Supervises the acquisition and implementation of project-related capital tooling assets
  • Document issues and escalate critical concerns
  • Review drawings for manufacturing using the Windchill environment
  • Leading cross-divisional manufacturing groups for current product support, benchmarking, best practice analysis, and new product development.
  • Up to 15% Domestic and International Travel
Qualifications / Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or another technical discipline required. MS/MBA degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5-7+ years of experience; one to three years in automotive or commercial truck industries preferred.
  • Coordinate plant input to ensure Manufacturing Engineering requirements are aligned with Design Engineering.
  • Participate in Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA).
  • Lead/participate in Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) activities.
  • Develop and document project specific manufacturing requirements.
  • Develop process validation plans and execute accordingly.
  • Coordinate vehicle system requirements and interfaces to support efficient production.
  • Evaluate and implement new manufacturing technologies for component and system assembly, programming, and testing.
  • Develop and implement logistics solutions to support new product launches.
  • Prepare and maintain all required manufacturing documentation in accordance with approved project schedules.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report key project metrics to ensure build readiness.
  • Provide hands-on Gemba support during pilot builds to identify issues, implement countermeasures, and ensure launch readiness.
  • Develop and implement standard work documentation to enhance clarity and repeatability across AME processes.
  • Plan and support the acquisition and implementation of capital tooling and equipment.
  • Facilitate execution of manufacturing project plans across PACCAR plants.
  • Review engineering drawings for manufacturability using Windchill.
  • Identify, document, and escalate issues and risks as necessary.
  • Support MEG (Manufacturing Expertise Group) initiatives with other PACCAR Plants.
  • Provide support to other Advanced Manufacturing Engineers during pilot builds, concept development, and design reviews as needed.

The salary range for the Project Engineer - Advanced Manufacturing is $100,100 to $156,600 annually. This position is also eligible for a holiday gift. Additionally, this role is eligible for the full range of benefit options listed above.
