Summary
Directs, coordinates, and exercises functional authority for planning, organization, control, integration, and completion of engineering design projects within area of assigned responsibility by performing the following duties personally or through other engineers assigned to the project.

Education and/or Experience
B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from four-year college or university; 2+ years related design engineering experience to include component design and CAD work in a manufacturing environment. Additional experience:
· Must be proficient at SolidWorks 3D design software.
· Strong mechanical aptitude.
· Understanding of metal stamping, plastic injection molding, FEA, and kinematics a plus.
· Strong understanding of GD&T principles and how to apply them.
· Experience creating DFEMA and DVP&R documents.
· Organized detailed thought process.
· Very high attention to detail.
· Ability to work quickly and accurately.
· Ability to share ideas and work with other professionals.
· Microsoft Office Skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to comprehend and apply principles of advanced calculus, modern algebra, and advanced statistical theory. Ability to work with concepts such as limits, rings, quadratic and differential equations, and proofs of theorems.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, etc.,) in its most difficult phases. Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
