Job Description:


We are seeking a detail-oriented Project Coordinator to support capital project closeout activities within a regulated industry environment. This role focuses on project financial analysis, administrative coordination, and ensuring compliance throughout the project lifecycle.

The ideal candidate will have strong SAP experience, the ability to analyze project financials, and a solid understanding of how projects move from initiation through closeout.


Key Responsibilities

  • Review project costs and compare actuals against budgets and forecasts
  • Investigate and document cost variances
  • Partner with project managers and cross-functional teams to gather supporting documentation
  • Validate material usage and installation records
  • Perform project closeouts within SAP
  • Conduct QA/QC reviews on completed project closures
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements (e.g., SOX)
  • Communicate project status updates, risks, and findings to stakeholders
  • Support full project lifecycle tracking and documentation


Day-to-Day Activities

  • Analyze financial data and project cost performance
  • Coordinate with internal teams, consultants, and external partners
  • Review and reconcile project documentation
  • Monitor project progress and assist with issue resolution
  • Ensure accurate and timely project closure


Qualifications

Required

  • Hands-on SAP experience (critical requirement)
  • Experience reviewing project costs, budgets, and variances
  • Strong understanding of project lifecycle and operations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities


Preferred

  • Experience in utility operations or capital projects
  • Background in regulated industries (e.g., utilities, healthcare, finance, insurance)
  • Familiarity with SOX compliance
  • SAP experience with:
  • Material movements
  • Project cost tracking
  • General Ledger (GL) review experience


What they will be doing/ working on:

  • Check if project costs match what was planned
  • Investigate and explain any cost differences
  • Gather missing info from project teams
  • Make sure materials were actually installed and recorded correctly
  • Enter and close projects in SAP
  • Double-check that everything follows compliance rules
  • Communicate updates to project managers and stakeholders


Must Have Skills:

  • SAP experience (critical requirement)
  • Ability to review project costs and cost variances
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Microsoft Office proficiency
  • Program management experience/Mindset – Understanding the full lifecycle
