Under General Supervision at an entry level, this position in the WV Division of Corrections and Rehabilitation (DCR) Information Technology Office (ITO) will be supporting DCR, focusing on a critical and major agency wide case management system, application, database and data processing. May train and support users within DCR.

The candidate will be responsible for:
  • Support the DCR team with applications, data processing, systems and databases

  • Serve as a liaison between the DCR team, the WV Office of Technology and Vendors

  • Participate in the design, development, testing, and deployment of software Solutions

  • Collaborate with DCR to ensure software solutions meet quality standards

  • Create and maintain documentation related to software design, testing and deployment

  • Participate in designing, reviewing, and assisting in modifying code

  • Participate in different development practices (e.g. agile)

  • Participate in self study programming topics

  • Practice data security and AI security

  • Support all areas of the case management system

  • Participate in new product testing and development including AI

  • Attend meetings to develop the best end solution for each project

  • Provide additional support to the DCR IT team and DCR

  • Perform other duties as required or assigned

  • This position may require an irregular work schedule and some travel

Training: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in computer science or related field including but not limited to business data programming, business systems analysis, computer accounting, computer and information systems, computer servicing technologies, information systems management, data processing, or computer engineering.
OR
An Associate's degree from an accredited college, university or business school in computer science or related field including but not limited to business data programming, business systems analysis, computer accounting, computer and information systems, computer servicing technologies, information systems management, data processing, or computer engineering and eighteen months of full-time or equivalent part-time paid computer programming experience in one or more programming or data base languages.Substitution: Three years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid computer programming experience in one or more programming or data base languages may substitute for the required training.
