Spend your summer making a difference! The Town of Rolesville is seeking enthusiastic individuals to join our Summer Camp team and help create a fun, safe, and memorable experience for children in our community.

The Program Support Specialist I assists with the delivery and support of recreational programs, special events, and facility operations. This entry-level, part-time position plays a key role in helping ensure participants have a positive and safe experience in our summer camp program.
Hours of operation will be Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Staff hired for this position are expected to be available to work shifts within this timeframe. The anticipated program dates are mid-June through early August.Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibilities:
Specialists are expected to actively participate with campers in a recreational setting, interact with the public, be a positive role model at all times, build relationships with campers, assist with set-up and clean-up of camp related activities, adhere to and enforce all Town of Rolesville and Sumer Camp policies, and perform other duties as necessary.

Duties:
  • Provide on-site support for recreational programs including setup, check-in, and basic supervision.
  • Assist staff with organizing equipment, materials, and supplies for activities.
  • Greet and assist program participants, parents, and patrons.
  • Perform light administrative tasks such as data entry, attendance tracking, and distributing information.
  • Help maintain cleanliness and safety of program areas and facilities.
  • Support special events through logistics, crowd guidance, and participant engagement.
  • Communicate effectively with staff, volunteers, and the public in a courteous manner.
  • Follow all department policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
  • Assist with other programs and tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Must be 15 years old or older.
  • Previous customer service or recreation experience is a plus but not required.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and flexible hours as needed.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
  • Able to lift up to 25 lbs. and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • If selected, you will be required to undergo a SBI background check process.
  • CPR and First Aid Certification (or must obtain soon after hire).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous experience supporting a Summer Camp program and/or working with children.
Working Conditions:
  • Indoor and outdoor recreational settings.
  • Hours will vary based on the activities scheduled for the day.
  • Must possess the ability to engage in physical activities and manual labor as required; including but not limited to, prolonged standing, walking, running, hiking, swimming, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 30 pounds.
