As Program Manager II for Contract Operations, you will oversee the implementation and ongoing management of key programs within the Heart, Vascular & Thoracic Institute (HVTI). In this role, you will plan, develop, and maintain systems and procedures that support operational excellence and program success. You will play a critical role in supporting C5 industry-sponsored research trials by helping ensure timely execution of contract reviews, while also assisting with the growing demands of the HVTI research finance team. This position is ideal for highly organized, detail-oriented professionals who can manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Prior paralegal experience is preferred. A caregiver in this position works days from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. with an option to work a hybrid/remote schedule following training/onboarding.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Manage the implementation and maintenance of designated programs.
Plan, develop and maintain systems and procedures.
Serve as a coach and mentor for other positions in the department.
Participate in budgetary processes.
Manage multiple priorities and projects with competing deadlines.
Review and monitor adherence to Human Resources policies and corporate compliance procedures.
Review, analyze, and negotiate research-related agreements to support clinical trials, investigator-initiated studies, and industry-sponsored research.
Partner with Principal Investigators, research teams, and sponsors to ensure agreement terms align with study scope, timelines, and institutional requirements.
Coordinate with Legal, Compliance, Finance, and Research Administration to route agreements through appropriate review and approval workflows.
Ensure agreement language includes appropriate protections related to intellectual property, confidentiality, publication rights, and data ownership.
Review and confirm study budget alignment with agreement terms, including payment schedules, invoicing requirements, and pass-through costs.
Identify and escalate risks related to indemnification, liability, insurance, and regulatory obligations. (HIPAA, IRB, data privacy, etc.)
Support contract lifecycle tracking, version control, and documentation management to ensure timely execution and audit readiness.
Develop and maintain standardized templates, clause libraries, and negotiation playbooks to improve efficiency and reduce turnaround time.
Serve as a liaison between sponsors/CROs and internal stakeholders to resolve issues, clarify terms, and remove barriers to study start-up.
Monitor agreement status and proactively communicate timelines, delays, and next steps to study teams and leadership.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration or related field and three years of experience in project management, data analysis and systems training
OR Associate’s Degree and five years of experience
OR Master’s Degree and two years of experience
Demonstrated teamwork, leadership, organizational, analytical, communication and problem-solving skills
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Data analysis experience in a healthcare setting
Strong computer background
Legal/paralegal or business background
Interest in red lining and editing legal agreements
Physical Requirements:
Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods
Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment
Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information
Ability to travel throughout the hospital system

Pay Range
Minimum Annual Salary: $57,510.00
Maximum Annual Salary: $87,697.50
