**Recruitment Open Until Filled!**The Cordova Recreation & Park District (District) seeks friendly, customer service-oriented candidates to serve as Front Desk Attendants on Saturdays and Sundays between 7:30 a.m. - 6:15 p.m.
This role aims to provide our community members with excellent experiences and customer service.The Ideal candidates will be self-motivated, able to work independently, and have strong customer service skills. Knowledge of adult and youth sports programs, cash handling, and basic computer skills is highly desired.
Required Schedule:Saturdays and Sundays with available shifts between the hours of 7:30 a.m. - 6:15 p.m.Summary DescriptionUnder direction of a Recreation Supervisor II and Senior Recreation Coordinator, facilitates assigned recreational activities; performs both the routine tasks of cleaning and maintaining District facilities while being able to respond to the program needs of patrons as a result of thorough knowledge of activities and program procedures; works closely with District staff, instructors, and patrons to ensure the best possible daily operation of recreation activities; and maintains records and reports.
The following duties are typical for this classification. Incumbents may not perform all of the listed duties and/or may be required to perform additional or different duties from those set forth below to address business needs and changing business practices.Front Desk Attendant Responsibilities:- Overall facility management while on duty including, but not limited to, opening and closing facility, greet and assist the public in person or by phone, answering inquiries related to department services, programs, or operations.
- Prepare fields and gyms for event setup, including, but not limited to tournaments, games, and rentals. This includes the setup and breakdown of pitching mounds.
- Performs basic clerical tasks such as printing forms, running daily reports, and filing documents.
- Establish and maintain customer accounts; accurately process point of-sale transactions, activity registrations, and facility reservations using recreation software.
- Count and verify cash drawers and run cash distribution reports.
- Maintains a thorough knowledge of programs at the Mather Sports Center; assists customers with registrations for classes, memberships, and other district offerings.
- Complete incident and accident reports and report all necessary information to the Recreation Supervisor as required.
Facility Monitor Responsibilities:- Acts as a liaison between District staff, customers, contractors, and participants; relays feedback to Senior Recreation Coordinator.
- Prepare fields and gyms for event setup, including, but not limited to tournaments, games, and rentals. This includes the setup and breakdown of pitching mounds.
- Enforce appropriate official rules and regulations of games; maintain knowledge of recreation and sports event rules and regulations.
- Locks and arms facility with correct and effective use of the intrusion alarm system.
- Receives and receipts payments for participant enrollment in recreation programs; maintains accurate records and writes reports.
- Post game scores to league website.
- Complete incident and accident reports and report all necessary information to the Recreation Supervisor as required.
General:- Enforces District and facility rules and procedures including, but not limited to, program rules, field/facility use, care of equipment, and admittance to facilities.
- Promote and enforce safety procedures; render first aid and CPR, if certified, as required.
- Uses strong customer service and interpersonal skills during public contact during the conduct of activities.
- Acts as Department representative to local residents, community groups, private businesses, and others concerning questions, problems, concerns, and activities in the provision of recreation programs and facility operations.
- Acts as a liaison between District staff and instructors for class material such as rosters and evaluation forms; relays feedback to Senior Recreation Coordinator from participants and instructors regarding District activities.
- Sets up and arranges chairs, tables and other furniture according to arrangement charts and plans or verbal directions.
- Safely utilizes equipment such as audio/visual/sound systems, computers and printers, exercise and sports equipment as necessary for recreation programming.
- Locks and arms facility with correct and effective use of the intrusion alarm system.
- Performs light janitorial work before and after recreation programs and empties all trash receptacles and stocks restrooms as required.
- Perform related duties as assigned.

- Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
Education and Experience Guidelines- Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade and some experience working in recreation programs, leading and supervising group activities.
License or Certificate:
Possession of First Aid/CPR/AED certification or obtain such within six months after employment.
Additional Requirements:
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Department of Justice (DOJ) and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) background check.
A clear tuberculosis screening is required.
