Our client is seeking a Production Tech II to work within their facilities located in Odessa, Texas on a long-term assignment (initially 12 months with possibility of extension / becoming permanent).
Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on oil and gas production equipment, including pumps, compressors, valves, and associated facilities
- Troubleshoot mechanical and operational issues to minimize downtime and maintain production targets
- Monitor production equipment performance and identify potential failures or safety concerns
- Ensure all work is conducted in compliance with company operational procedures, environmental regulations, and safety standards
- Accurately document maintenance activities, inspections, and production data using computer-based systems
- Read and interpret technical documents, schematics, and P&IDs to support troubleshooting and repair activities
- Coordinate with operations, engineering, and maintenance teams to resolve equipment or system issues
- Travel between field locations as required and respond to operational needs
Skills & Qualifications
- 2–5 years of experience in oil and gas production or field operations
- Minimum of a GED or equivalent
- Strong mechanical aptitude with proven troubleshooting and repair capabilities
- Working knowledge of oil and gas production equipment and field operations
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and P&IDs
- Basic computer skills for data entry, reporting, and documentation
- Ability to work independently and safely in a field environment
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel between field locations
