Production Supervisor II
Location: Olive Township, MI (Onsite, 5 days/week)
Contract Duration: Through May 2027 (with a possibility of extension)

Overview:
The Production Supervisor II provides direct oversight of daily operations across two independent coal-powered steam plants. This role requires strong leadership, independent decision-making, and comfort supervising union employees in a heavy industrial environment. The supervisor serves as the primary point of accountability on back-shift operations with minimal on-site support.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise 5–8 union employees per shift
- Oversee day-to-day crew activities, task assignments, and shift planning
- Build, adjust, and manage shift schedules
- Handle attendance management (sick calls, call-ins, coverage planning)
- Ensure production and maintenance tasks are completed safely and on time
- Function independently as the lead authority on back shifts
- Identify, address, and escalate operational or personnel issues
- Maintain all required administrative documentation related to workforce management
- Enforce safety procedures with strong emphasis on Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)
Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in a Technical Field, Skilled Trades, or related discipline (Required)
- 2–4 years’ experience demonstrating technical knowledge in power plant operations or similar heavy industrial operations (Required)
- Proven background as a Supervisor or Lead
- Experience working with a union workforce (strongly preferred)
- Background in power generation, foundry, oil & gas, or heavy industrial facilities
- Automotive manufacturing experience acceptable
- Strong knowledge of LOTO safety procedures
- High comfort level working independently with strong ownership mindset
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office / Excel
- SAP experience is a strong plus
- No certifications required (training provided onsite)
Work Environment
- Coal-powered steam plant
- Industrial, physically demanding, and sometimes dirty environment
- Temperatures may exceed 100°F
- No equipment operation required — oversight only
