We are seeking a Production Planning Specialist to support demand, capacity, inventory, and scheduling activities that keep operations running efficiently and customer commitments on track. This role works closely with Operations, Sourcing, Sales, and Supply Chain teams to ensure material availability, accurate planning data, and strong on-time delivery performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain production schedules based on demand, capacity, inventory, and material availability.
- Monitor work orders, backlog, and schedule performance to support on-time delivery goals.
- Review and maintain ERP/MRP planning parameters and investigate exceptions or data issues.
- Coordinate with internal teams and suppliers to resolve shortages, changes in demand, and delivery risks.
- Track inventory levels, improve inventory accuracy, and support proper stocking strategies.
- Prepare reports on KPIs such as on-time delivery, backlog, working capital, and inventory turns.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to planning, inventory control, and scheduling efficiency.
- Help implement and maintain Kanban or other pull-based replenishment processes where needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in manufacturing materials, production planning, or supply chain planning.
- Hands-on experience with ERP and MRP systems.
- Strong understanding of production scheduling, capacity planning, and inventory control.
- Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methods preferred.
- Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
Preferred Experience
- APICS, ISM, or related supply chain certification.
- Experience selecting, implementing, or improving ERP systems.
- Exposure to shop floor reporting, raw material planning, and customer delivery coordination.
