Description
Red Dot Corporation, the leading producer of premium mobile HVAC units and components for heavy-duty commercial and military vehicles, is recruiting for the following position:
FLSA: Non-Exempt
Shift: Days, Monday - Thursday 10 hour shifts, 6:30 AM to 5:15 PM
Compensation: $19.00 per hour
JOB SUMMARY:
Under the general supervision and direction of the Area Team Leader, have the ability to work in assigned work centers/area. The work centers can vary from: CORE, Laser/Turret, Powder Coat, Tube Fab, Plastics, Assembly, etc.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Assemble, install, and integrate components and subassemblies according to engineering drawings, work instructions, and standard operating procedures.
- Perform final assembly tasks such as mechanical fastening, wire preparation and routing, component alignment, and final product detailing.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and assembly equipment safely and effectively to complete assigned tasks.
- Inspect assembled products to ensure workmanship, functionality, and conformance to quality standards.
- Follow all safety, quality, and production requirements while maintaining a clean and organized work area.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding work status, quality issues, or process concerns.
- Ability to multi-task
- Ability to work at a fast paced environment.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform final assembly operations, including component installation, wire preparation, mechanical fastening, and final product detailing.
- Adhere to standard operating procedures (SOPs), blueprints, work instructions, and method sheets to complete tasks accurately and efficiently.
- Operate tools, machinery, and related equipment safely and correctly.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, participating in daily 5S and housekeeping activities.
- Follow all safety, security, and environmental procedures. Report safety concerns promptly to the supervisor or lead.
- Work at a consistent pace to meet production schedules and quality standards.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding work progress, issues, or changes.
- Participate in cross-training as required and assist in other areas of production as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and SOPs.
- Familiarity with quality control standards and visual/mechanical inspection techniques.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and proficiency with hand and power tools.
- Basic computer and data entry skills for tracking production activities.
- Strong attention to detail, time management, and ability to work both independently and within a team.
- Good communication skills for reporting issues and following directions.
- Dependability and consistent attendance required.
- Commitment to safety, product quality, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to stand for at least ten hours a day
- Visually or otherwise identify, observe and assess distance, color and depth; Required to regularly communicate with others and exchange accurate information.
- Frequently move up to 25 pounds and occasionally move up to 50 pounds. He/she must be able to work within different temperature changes, indoors to outdoors; moving between buildings, inventory racks and working around moving equipment/machines; occasionally ascend/descend stairs as required.
- Ability to follow safety rules
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Prior manufacturing or production experience preferred.
- Ability to interpret technical documents and follow instructions accurately.
- Experience with departmental equipment or processes is a plus.
