Production & Design Assistant - Fashion Brand NYC

Our client is seeking a Production & Design Assistant to join their team on a contract basis in their New York office!

Responsibilities:

• Partner with Designers to build comprehensive Tech Packs, including detailed sketches (flats), a Bill of Materials (BOM), and construction call-outs.
• Manage and document all changes throughout the sampling process (Proto, SMS, PP), ensuring the Tech Pack reflects the most current design and fit iterations.
• Formally release completed Tech Packs to global factories, ensuring all necessary patterns and digital assets are included for production.
• Act as the first point of contact for factory questions regarding Tech Pack specifications, material substitutions, or construction methods.
• Coordinate between Design and Product Developers to provide quick, clear answers to factory queries to prevent timeline delays.

Requirements:

• Degree in Fashion Design, Apparel Production, or a related field.
• Hands-on experience using a PLM system
• Strong proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Microsoft Excel.
• A foundational understanding of how clothes are assembled (stitches, seams, and fabric behavior)
• Strong written & verbal communication skills.
