Job Description

The Powder Coating Technician prepares metal door and frame systems for final coating and painting by using a variety of tools and equipment. This role applies powder coating, operates related machinery, and ensures that surfaces meet strict quality standards for coverage, thickness, and cure in accordance with manufacturing specifications. The technician plays a key part in the production process by delivering consistently high-quality surface preparation before products move to final assembly.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare metal door and frame surfaces for powder coating and painting using appropriate tools and equipment.
  • Apply powder coating to products, ensuring proper coverage, thickness, and curing according to manufacturing standards and specifications.
  • Operate production and coating machinery safely and efficiently as part of the powder coating process.
  • Perform sandblasting and other surface preparation methods as needed to achieve the required finish.
  • Inspect surfaces before and after coating to verify quality, identify defects, and ensure readiness for final assembly.
  • Identify and distinguish differences in color to confirm accurate coating application and finish quality.
  • Follow established production processes and work instructions to maintain consistency and meet throughput goals.
  • Use production aids such as raised work platforms, lifts, overhead cranes, and forklifts to move and position heavy materials safely.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area to support safety, efficiency, and product quality.
  • Adhere to all safety procedures and guidelines, including proper handling of equipment, materials, and hazardous substances.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to resolve issues, improve processes, and support overall production goals.

Work Environment

This role is based in a production facility where heavy work is regularly required and moderate to loud noise is common. You will frequently stand, stoop, walk, twist, bend, and lift or move heavy objects up to 70 pounds, and occasionally lift or move very heavy objects up to 100 pounds. Production aids such as raised work platforms, lifts, overhead cranes, and forklifts are available to assist with material handling. You may occasionally be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, and hazardous materials, as well as humid conditions (non-weather) and moving mechanical parts. The environment is industrial and safety-focused, with established procedures and equipment to support safe and efficient work.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Snoqualmie, WA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.
